Lekevie C. Johnson is a native Mississippian and United States Marine Corps veteran whose forward-thinking leadership brings a unique perspective to every space he serves. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of New Light Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, and as Street Outreach Manager at OurCalling, where he leads outreach operations and works to help individuals transition out of homelessness through faith-based support and strategic care. Driven by a deep commitment to excellence, Lekevie is passionate about serving both the church and the community with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
His spiritual journey began in childhood as the son of a preacher, and he has faithfully served in many roles, including musician, vocalist, ministry leader, and Elder. He also sang alongside his late father, Reverend Lloyd Johnson, in a gospel quartet, an experience that continues to shape his heart for ministry.
In 1998, he preached his first sermon titled “Stay Focused,” and was licensed and ordained in 1999. He pastored Restoration Life Ministries in Cleveland, Mississippi for eight years and later served as Senior Pastor of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church in Urbana, Illinois for 13 years. During his tenure, he led the congregation through spiritual and numerical growth and oversaw the acquisition of a new worship facility. In 2019, the church was renamed Mt. Calvary M.B. Church (“The Hill”).
In addition to his pastoral leadership, Lekevie is a published author. He is a graduate of the Mid-South Delta Leaders Tri-State Leadership Program at Delta State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry Leadership from Liberty University.
He enjoys life with his wife, Rochelle, and their two children.
